Directions
-
In a large bowl, combine: 250 g sugar, 125 g flour, 1 tsp vanilla sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 250 ml milk. Mix well. Add 50 g butter and mix thoroughly. Then, add 1 egg and 1 egg yolk and stir until smooth. Gradually incorporate 500 g flour and 10 g baking powder. Knead the mixture by hand until a smooth dough forms.
-
Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll out one part with a rolling pin to your desired thickness. Use a 5 cm round cutter to shape the dough. Place the rounds on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk 1 egg white until foamy. Gradually add 130 g icing sugar and 1 tsp lemon juice. Mix until smooth. Spread this icing evenly over the cooled baked rounds. Allow the icing to set before serving.
