  • 200 ml warm water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 100 g sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 8 g vanilla sugar
  • 10 g dry yeast
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 750 g flour
  • Jam (for filling)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp milk
  • Sugar (for sprinkling)

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, egg whites, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, vegetable oil, dry yeast, and flour. Mix well until a smooth dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll each portion into a square using a rolling pin. Brush the surface with butter, then divide it into four smaller sections. Cut designs into the dough as desired, then cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.

  3. Press a spoonful of jam into the center of each designed dough piece. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with 1 teaspoon of milk, then brush the mixture over the dough. Sprinkle sugar on top.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
