Directions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine: 300 ml milk, 1 tbsp dry yeast, 3 tbsp sugar, 60 ml oil, 1 egg, Grated lemon peel. Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Add: 650 g 00 flour, ½ tsp salt, 40 g butter. Mix everything until a smooth dough forms.
-
Cover the dough with a layer of plastic wrap (or polythene) and a clean cloth. Let it rest for about 1 hour, allowing it to rise. After rising, divide the dough into small portions. Shape each portion into a ball, then gently press a hole through the center to create a donut shape.
-
Cover the shaped dough again with a cloth and let it rest for another 15 minutes. Heat corn oil in a deep pan for frying. Once the oil is hot, deep-fry the donuts until golden brown. Remove the donuts and drain excess oil. While still warm, coat them generously with sugar.
