Directions

  1. Chop the green onion, onion, and soft tofu. Heat a pan over low heat and add 2 tbsp (16g) of cooking oil. Add 0.5 tbsp (9g) of minced garlic and the chopped green onion. Sauté until fragrant. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Stir in 1.5 tbsp (8g) of red chili powder and fry on low heat to create a chili oil.

  2. Pour in 200ml of water, followed by 0.5 tsp (2g) of salt and 1 tbsp (8g) of soy sauce. Add 100g of canned tuna and let it simmer until it starts to sizzle. Gently add the soft tofu and bring the mixture to a boil. Crack an egg into the stew, then add the sliced chili pepper (if using) and additional green onion. Cover the pan with a lid and let the egg cook for a few minutes.

  3. After 2–3 minutes, drizzle 1 tbsp (8g) of sesame oil over the stew. Sprinkle with extra chopped green onion and serve hot.
