Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4–5 garlic cloves
  • 1 spicy red chili (sliced)
  • 1 Cheongyang pepper (or any spicy green pepper, sliced)
  • 1 tsp pepperoncino (crushed red pepper flakes)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Directions

  1. Cut the cabbage into thick round slices from the middle. Soak the slices in a bowl of water for 3 minutes. Drain and pat dry thoroughly using paper towels.

  2. Insert a skewer or stick into the cabbage slice for easy handling. Lightly sprinkle salt on both sides, then spread mayonnaise evenly over the top. Heat a pan over medium-low heat and place the cabbage slice in it. Spread more mayonnaise over the exposed side.
    Flip the cabbage and continue cooking, adding whole garlic cloves to the pan.

  3. Add sliced spicy red chili and continue cooking. Flip the cabbage again and sprinkle crushed pepperoncino on top. Adjust salt to taste, then flip once more to ensure even cooking. Once golden brown and tender, remove from the pan and serve warm.
