Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, 60 grams of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix well. Add 80 grams of honey and mix again. Add 100 grams of softened butter and mix until combined. Gradually add 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 300-320 grams of flour, mixing well. If needed, add a little more flour to create a soft, workable dough. Knead gently with your hands to achieve the right consistency.

  2. Divide the dough into small, even pieces. Roll each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball gently with your hands. Use a knife to create a decorative design on the tops. Brush the surface of each piece with a thin layer of beaten egg. Place a walnut at the center of each piece where the egg wash was applied.

  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Arrange the dough pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
