Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • Grated orange peel
  • 60 ml orange juice
  • 125 g yogurt
  • 280 g flour
  • 6 g baking powder
  • Sugar + vanilla sugar (for coating)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of sugar, a pinch of salt, and grated orange peel. Add the oil and mix again. Then pour in 60 ml of orange juice and stir until well combined. Finally, add 125 g of yogurt and mix thoroughly.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine 280 g of flour with 6 g of baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring well after each addition.

  3. Take a glass and line it with polythene. Fill the glass with the batter and carefully remove the polythene, forming small portions of dough.

  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once it’s hot, carefully drop the dough portions into the oil. Fry until the tops turn light red. Once all are fried, transfer them into a bowl with a mixture of sugar and vanilla sugar. Toss gently to coat.
