Directions

1. Step

Rinse the dates in hot water, then soak them along with the dried fruit in hot water for a few minutes. Toast the walnuts over medium heat until fragrant. Remove the dates from the water, cut them in half, and remove the pits. Drain the dried fruit and pat dry with a paper towel.

2. Step

Blend the dates, dried fruit, and toasted walnuts together until a thick mixture forms. Transfer the mixture to a 6-inch (21 cm) baking dish and press it evenly into the dish using a spoon.

3. Step

In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the sugar-free applesauce and cocoa powder, then mix until well combined.

4. Step

In a small saucepan, mix the agave-agar with 1/2 cup (120 ml) hot water. Bring to a boil, stirring until fully dissolved. Pour the agar mixture into the banana-cocoa mixture and mix thoroughly.

5. Step

Pour the chocolate mixture over the fruit and nut base, spreading it evenly. Refrigerate for 3–4 hours until set. Slice and enjoy!
