Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine 140 ml milk, 1 egg, 3 grams yeast, and 25 grams sugar. Mix well with a spatula. Add 300 grams bread flour/wheat flour and 3 grams salt, and mix until combined. Cover the bowl with a lid and let it rest for 20 minutes.

  2. Add 30 grams unsalted butter to the dough and knead or mix until well incorporated. Cover the bowl again with a lid and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Roll out the dough into a square shape using a rolling pin. Spread a thin layer of unsalted butter over the surface. Fold the dough into thirds (as shown in the video) and divide it into 16 equal parts using a knife. Shape each piece into a design and arrange them together on a baking tray. Cover the tray with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 50 minutes. Once risen, brush the top with an egg wash for a golden finish.

  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the dough for 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and enjoy!
