Ingredients

  • Milk: 300 ml
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar: 1 tablespoon
  • Yeast: 8 grams
  • Egg: 1
  • Flour: 500 grams (approx. 1.8 cups)
  • Butter: 50 grams (approx. 2.5 tablespoons)
  • Minced meat: 300 grams
  • Cabbage: 400 grams
  • Onion: 1
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Egg yolk: 1
  • Milk: 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix: Milk (300 ml), Salt (1 tsp), Sugar (1 tbsp), Egg (1), Yeast (8 grams), Add the flour (500 grams) and mix well. Then incorporate the butter (50 grams) and mix until smooth. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 40–60 minutes.

  2. In a heated pan, combine: Minced meat (300 grams), Cabbage (400 grams), Onion (1, chopped), Salt and pepper (to taste). Cook covered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each part into 16 small balls. Place the balls in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let them rest for 10–15 minutes.

  4. Flatten each dough ball slightly, place a spoonful of the cooked filling on top, and fold or shape as desired. Arrange the prepared dough pieces on a baking tray and cover them with plastic wrap. Allow them to rest for another 20 minutes.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk (1) and milk (1 teaspoon). Brush this mixture over the top of the prepared dough pieces. 

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
