Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine 200 grams of leftover rice, 5 grams of yeast, 25 grams of sugar, and 200 grams of milk. Mix with a spatula until combined. Add 300 grams of bread flour or wheat flour and 3 grams of salt. Mix well to form a sticky dough. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.

  2. Knead the dough thoroughly with 30 grams of unsalted butter until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size. Divide the dough into 16 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round ball. Arrange the dough balls closely together in a greased or lined baking tin. Cover again with plastic wrap and let them rise for another hour. Lightly brush the tops with milk.

  3. Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F). Bake the rolls for 22 minutes or until golden brown. Remove the rolls from the oven and brush them with unsalted butter for a shiny, flavorful finish. Serve warm and enjoy!
