Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix 300 grams of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and 120 grams of butter until crumbly. Add 130 grams of kefir and knead the mixture into a soft dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  2. In another bowl, mix 130 grams of flour, 80 grams of butter, 120 grams of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  3. Divide the chilled dough into 5 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a thin circle using a rolling pin.

  4. Spread a portion of the prepared filling over the rolled dough. Repeat layering with more dough and filling as desired, ending with dough on top. Cut the layered dough into pieces of your desired shape. Bake the pieces in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

  5. Remove from the oven and let the pieces cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
