Directions
-
In a bowl, combine 1 egg, 38 grams of sugar, 4 grams of yeast, and 140 ml of milk. Mix well using a spatula. Add 300 grams of bread flour/wheat flour and 3 grams of salt to the mixture. Knead it into a dough, then grease it with 30 grams of unsalted butter. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set it aside for 20 minutes.
-
In another bowl, mix 150 grams of all-purpose flour/wheat flour with 95 grams of unsalted butter using your hands until well combined. Transfer this mixture into a piping bag and flatten it with a rolling pin.
-
Take the rested dough and roll it out with a rolling pin. Place the butter mixture (Flour 2) on top of the dough, then fold the dough over the butter mixture as demonstrated in the video. Cut the folded dough into thin strips using a knife. Shape the strips into your desired design and place them in a baking pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 2 hours.
-
Brush the risen dough with egg wash. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool before serving.
