Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Gradually add the vegetable oil, continuing to mix until well combined. Then, add the baking powder and flour, stirring until a soft dough forms. If needed, add a little more flour and knead gently by hand to achieve the desired consistency.

  2. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Cover one part with plastic wrap and set it aside. Roll out the remaining dough on a sheet of plastic wrap. Spread the jam evenly over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.

  3. Roll out the reserved dough and place it over the jam and walnut layer. Gently press down with a fork to create marks and use a small spoon to make holes evenly across the dough. Transfer the prepared dough onto a baking sheet.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Cut into small pieces and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
