  • Vanilla sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: a pinch
  • Flour: 160–250 grams (5.6–8.8 ounces)
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar: 80 grams (2.8 ounces)

Directions

1. Step

In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese, butter, vanilla sugar, salt, flour (start with 160 grams and add more if needed), and baking powder. Mix until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes.

2. Step

Roll out the dough into a square shape. Sprinkle half of the sugar evenly over the dough, then gently press it in with a rolling pin. Fold the dough in half, sprinkle the remaining sugar on top, and roll it again to incorporate the sugar.

3. Step

Fold the dough from both sides towards the center and cut it into pieces. Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool before serving.
