  • 2 apples
  • 4 eggs
  • 125 ml milk
  • 150 g sugar
  • 150 ml oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • About 300 g flour
  • 15 g yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Vanilla extract (to taste)

Directions

  1. Peel and chop the apples. Place them in a bowl and mix with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Set aside.

  2. In a separate large bowl, combine the eggs, a pinch of salt, and 150 g of sugar. Use a mixer to blend well. Gradually add the oil, milk, vanilla extract, and sifted flour. Mix in the yeast until the batter is smooth and lump-free.

  3. Grease or line a 24 cm baking mold. Pour half of the batter into the mold, spreading it evenly. Layer the chopped apples on top, then pour the remaining batter evenly over the apples. Add the rest of the apples and sprinkle almonds on top for added texture.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (338°F) for approximately 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Once baked, let it cool and sprinkle with caster sugar before serving.
