Fried Butter Cookies are a delightful treat, golden and crispy on the outside with a soft, buttery center. These cookies are made with simple ingredients—egg, sugar, vanilla, baking powder, flour, and butter—that combine to create a rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavor. Unlike traditional baked cookies, these are deep-fried, giving them a unique texture that’s both light and satisfyingly crunchy. Perfect as a snack or a tea-time treat, these cookies are easy to make and bring a nostalgic, homemade warmth with every bite.

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk 1 egg and 80 grams of sugar until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

  2. Add 230 grams of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

  3. Add 44 grams of butter to the mixture, kneading with your hands until a dough forms.

  4. Roll out the dough into a square, trimming the edges as needed. Cut it into strips about 2-3 cm wide, then slice into small pieces.
