Directions

1. Step

In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, salt, egg, milk, melted butter, yeast, and flour. Knead the mixture into a smooth dough, then cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest for 40 minutes until it rises.

In another bowl, mix sugar, egg, cornstarch (or flour), milk, and vanilla sugar. Stir well, then cover and set aside.

Roll out the dough into a long rectangular shape. Cut it into long strips, then cut each strip in the middle. Shape and design the dough as desired. Bake in a covered pan for 20 minutes.

4. Step

In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk with 1 tbsp of milk. Brush this mixture over the baked dough. Pipe the prepared filling on top using a paper cone. Bake at 180°C for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven, add more filling if needed, and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
