Directions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine 90 g sugar, water, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well mixed. Add vegetable oil and mix again until fully combined. Gradually add corn starch, baking powder, and flour (starting with 230 g). Mix well until a soft dough forms. If needed, add a little more flour to achieve the right consistency. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 20 30 minutes.
-
Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Sprinkle 2 tbsp of cane or white sugar evenly over the rolled dough. If desired, you can mix the sugar with the cinnamon for extra flavor. Cut the dough into squares or your preferred shape.
-
Place the cut pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven, let them cool slightly on the baking sheet, and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
