Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 500 g of flour, 7 g of dry yeast, 3 tbsp of sugar, 1 egg, 125 g of softened butter, 250 ml of lukewarm water, and 1 tsp of salt. Mix thoroughly until a smooth dough forms.

  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a clean cloth. Allow the dough to rise for about 2 hours in a warm place.

  3. Once risen, shape the dough into a large round. Cut it into triangular shapes, similar to a pizza. Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the point to form crescents. Spread chocolate onto each piece before rolling, if desired.

  4. Brush the tops of the crescents with an egg wash for a golden finish.

  5. Place the crescents on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
