Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together 1 egg, 40 grams sugar, 150 ml milk, and 3 grams yeast using a spatula. Add 300 grams of bread flour (or wheat flour) and 3 grams salt to the mixture. Stir to combine, then knead the dough with 30 grams of unsalted butter until smooth. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 1 hour.

  2. After the dough has risen, divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a round ball and cover them with plastic wrap. Allow the balls to rest for 10 minutes. Then, following the desired design, make small holes in each dough ball (as shown in the video). Cover them again with plastic wrap and leave to rise for another 50 minutes.

  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add enough oil to fry the dough balls. Fry the dough balls, turning them to ensure they develop a golden red coating on all sides.

  4. Melt the chocolate over gentle heat. Once melted, dip one side of each fried dough ball into the chocolate. Drizzle white chocolate on top for a decorative finish.
