  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 130 g butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 90 g brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 25 g cocoa powder
  • 40 g flour
  • 40 g cornstarch (or flour substitute)
  • 1 sachet (11 g) baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 80 g full cream (30% fat)
  • 100 g milk chocolate

Directions

  1. In a bowl, beat together 4 eggs, 90 g brown sugar, 25 g cocoa powder, 40 g cornstarch, 10 g baking powder, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, melt 200 g dark chocolate and 130 g butter. Once melted, mix them together until smooth. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the egg mixture and mix well until fully combined. Pour the batter into a 20 cm round cake tin and bake at 160°C (320°F) for about 40 minutes.

  2. After the cake has cooled slightly, melt 100 g milk chocolate and 80 g full cream together in a saucepan or microwave, stirring until smooth. Pour the melted icing over the top of the cooled cake.

  3. Allow the icing to set slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your rich, indulgent chocolate cake!
