Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 180 ml water, 13 g sugar, and 3 g yeast. Stir until the yeast dissolves. Add 300 g all-purpose flour and 3 g salt. Mix well to form a dough. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape each piece into a round ball. Cover the dough balls with a plastic wrap or polythene and let them rest for 15 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix 20 g all-purpose/wheat flour with 30 g cooking oil to form a smooth paste. Flatten one dough ball using a rolling pin. Brush the surface with the prepared oil-flour mixture. Shape the dough into a hollow ball by folding and sealing the edges, ensuring it has an air pocket inside. Cover the shaped dough balls with plastic wrap and let them rest for another 15 minutes.

  3. Flatten each hollow dough ball again using a rolling pin. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and gently press them into the dough. Heat a pan on medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Fry each piece until both sides turn golden red. Adjust the heat to ensure even cooking. Remove from the pan and serve hot.
