Directions
-
In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Mix well, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes until foamy. Add eggs, salt, butter, baking powder, and vinegar to the yeast mixture. Mix thoroughly. Gradually incorporate the flour (start with 800 g, adding more if needed) and knead until the dough is soft and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes or until doubled in size. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal parts. Shape each piece into a ball. Cover the dough balls with plastic wrap and let them rest for an additional 15 minutes.
-
Roll out each ball into a flat round using a rolling pin, then shape or design as desired. Transfer the shaped dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a mixture of egg yolk and 2 tbsp milk. Sprinkle sugar or sesame seeds as desired.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown. -
Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack before serving.
