Directions

  1. Peel and chop the apples into small pieces. In a pan, combine the apples, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 tablespoon of jam. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the apples are soft. Set aside to cool.

  2. In a bowl, mix the flour (260-280 grams), baking powder (1 teaspoon), and butter (100 grams). Use your hands to mix until the texture resembles breadcrumbs.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, 60 grams of sugar, sour cream (or yogurt), a pinch of vanilla, and a pinch of salt until well blended. Gradually add this mixture to the flour and butter mixture. Knead gently by hand to form a soft, smooth dough.

  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll one part into a ball, then flatten and roll it out evenly. Cut the rolled dough into 4 smaller sections. Place a spoonful of the cooked apple filling on each section. Wrap the dough around the filling and tie it into a knot. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Place the prepared knots on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar for a final touch.
