Directions
-
Peel and chop the apples into small pieces. In a pan, combine the apples, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 tablespoon of jam. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the apples are soft. Set aside to cool.
-
In a bowl, mix the flour (260-280 grams), baking powder (1 teaspoon), and butter (100 grams). Use your hands to mix until the texture resembles breadcrumbs.
-
In another bowl, whisk together the egg, 60 grams of sugar, sour cream (or yogurt), a pinch of vanilla, and a pinch of salt until well blended. Gradually add this mixture to the flour and butter mixture. Knead gently by hand to form a soft, smooth dough.
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll one part into a ball, then flatten and roll it out evenly. Cut the rolled dough into 4 smaller sections. Place a spoonful of the cooked apple filling on each section. Wrap the dough around the filling and tie it into a knot. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Place the prepared knots on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar for a final touch.
