Directions

1. Step

In a small saucepan, combine the chopped apples, 2 tbsp of sugar, 1 tbsp of butter, and 1 tbsp of jam. Cook over medium heat until the apples soften, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool.

2. Step

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, 100 grams of sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Gradually add the vegetable oil and yogurt (or sour cream) while mixing continuously. Sift in the baking powder and flour (380 grams) and mix until the dough begins to come together. If needed, add a little more flour and knead lightly with your hands to form a soft dough.

3. Step

Divide the dough into 14 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Place the dough balls in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for about 15 minutes.

4. Step

Roll out each dough ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin. Place 1 teaspoon of the apple filling in the center of the rolled-out dough. Wrap the dough around the filling, sealing it well to form a round pastry.

5. Step

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Place the prepared pastries on a lined baking tray, seam-side down. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown.
