Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix 400 g of flour and 1 tsp of baking powder lightly. Add 180 g of butter and mix with your hands until crumbly.

  2. In another bowl, whisk together: 50 g sour cream (or yogurt), 100 g sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 pinch of salt, 1 egg. Mix well until smooth.

  3. Combine the wet mixture with the crumbly mixture. Press and knead gently with your hands to form a soft dough.

  4. Divide the dough into 1–3 portions (as preferred). Wrap and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.

  5. Divide the chilled dough into 12 equal parts. Roll each part into a ball, then flatten into discs.

  6. Transfer the rolled-out dough pieces into a baking mold. Refrigerate again while preparing the filling.

  7. Chop 5 apples into small pieces. In a bowl, mix: 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp butter. Cook the mixture until the apples soften. Spoon the apple mixture into the dough-lined molds. Optionally, chop an extra apple and layer slices on top.

  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
