  • 60 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 100 g plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanillin (or vanilla extract)
  • 70 g melted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 350 g flour
  • 6 g baking powder
  • 2 apples
  • 50 g walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp honey (or sugar)
  • 1 tbsp jam
  • Powdered sugar (for topping)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sugar, vanillin, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the oil and yogurt, then mix well. Gradually add the flour and baking powder to form a soft, pliable dough. Place the dough in the fridge to chill for 5 minutes.

  2. Peel and chop the apples into small pieces. In a pan, cook the apples with cinnamon, butter, and honey (or sugar) over low heat for 5-6 minutes. Stir in the chopped walnuts and jam. Set the filling aside to cool.

  3. Roll out the chilled dough into a flat sheet and use a round cutter to cut out shapes. Place a spoonful of the apple filling in the center of each round piece of dough. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges. Arrange the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
