Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 240 grams flour, 60 grams sugar, 30 grams almond powder, 140 grams butter, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix well until a dough forms.

  2. Shape the dough into a round, approximately 26 cm in diameter. Refrigerate for 1 hour to chill.

  3. While the dough chills, prepare the cream topping. In another bowl, beat 120 grams soft butter, 100 grams icing sugar, 3 eggs, 120 grams almond powder, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  4. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Spread the cream mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle 60 grams of slivered almonds on top. Bake at 160°C (320°F) for 35 minutes.

  5. Once baked, remove the almond tart from the oven. If desired, brush a thin layer of jam icing on top for extra flavor.

  6. For a finishing touch, place a round object (like a bowl) on top of the tart and lightly sprinkle sugar around it for decoration.
